Job Description:

The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) is responsible for providing direct implementation of behavior-analytic services to clients. The RBT has a certificate from the BACB, works under the supervision of a BCBA or BCaBA and follows specific treatment plans to address behavioral challenges and skill deficits.

Key Responsibilities:

Direct Implementation of Treatment Plans:

  • Deliver ABA therapy sessions according to the treatment plans designed by the supervising BCBA or BCaBA.
  • Implement behavior intervention plans to address challenging behaviors and teach new skills.

Data Collection and Reporting:

  • Collect accurate and detailed data on client behaviors and progress during each session.
  • Record data in an organized manner for analysis by the supervising BCBA or BCaBA.

Client and Caregiver Interaction:

  • Work closely with clients to build rapport and create a positive therapeutic environment.
  • Participate in team meetings, professional development and school events.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members.

Behavior Management:

  • Ensure the safety and well-being of clients during therapy sessions.
  • Follow ethical guidelines and standards of practice in all interactions with clients.

Professional Development:

  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
  • Maintain RBT certification through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
  • Adhere to RBT guidelines and ethical standards.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Certification: Current certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (preferred)
  • If no certification: Must be willing to complete a 40 hour course and pass RBT certification exam
  • Bilingual proficiency is a plus
  • Skills:
    • Strong observational and analytical skills.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Patience, empathy, and the ability to build rapport with clients.
    • Ability to follow detailed instructions and protocols.
    • Basic understanding of ABA principles and techniques.
