Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA)
Job Description:
The BCaBA provides support in the implementation of ABA programs, conducts assessments, and collects data to improve socially significant behaviors in clients. The BCaBA works under the supervision of a BCBA and collaborates with other team members to ensure effective service delivery.Key Responsibilities:
Assessment and Data Collection:
- Assist in conducting functional behavior assessments (FBA) and skill-based assessments.
- Collect and record data on client behaviors and progress.
- Monitor and analyze data to inform treatment decisions.
Implementation of Treatment Plans:
- Implement individualized treatment plans designed by the supervising BCBA.
- Use scientific & evidence-based ABA strategies to address challenging behaviors and teach new skills.
- Adjust interventions based on ongoing data collection and supervisor guidance.
- Face to face protocol modification or treatment by protocol.
Supervision and Training:
- Supervise the work of Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) and other direct care staff.
- Provide training and support to staff, parents, and caregivers on ABA principles and techniques.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Participate in team meetings, professional development and school events.
- Maintain effective communication with clients, families, and caregivers.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of client progress and treatment outcomes.
- Prepare reports and summaries for review by the supervising BCBA.
- Ensure compliance with ethical guidelines and standards of practice.
Professional Development:
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
- Stay current with advancements in ABA and related fields.
- Maintain BCaBA certification and adhere to the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education, or related field.
- Certification: Current certification as a BCaBA by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
- Medicaid Credentialed (preferred)
- Bilingual proficiency is a plus
- Skills:
- Strong analytical and observational skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in data collection and analysis.
- Knowledge of ABA principles and evidence-based practices.
